Cardboard Box City

Help the Homeless in Rochester

On Friday, October 19, 2007, we invite you spend a night in a temporary dwelling to help the homeless.

That night we will create a temporary city at Soldier's Field. Spend the night in a cardboard box or a tent to raise money and awareness for the organizations that support and house the homeless in Rochester. Read more details.

The needs

Every night in Rochester, 15 to 37 homeless people seek shelter and a meal at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House and the Interfaith Hospitality Network. The Salvation Army offers transitional housing to homeless families, as well as emergency lodging. In 2006, 8,227 homeless men, women and children were served by Rochester's shelters. The shelters provided 7,191 nights of lodging and served more than 36,700 meals. Won't you help?

One night that makes 7000 nights of difference!
